Being a Professor and Teacher
I loved teaching moral philosophy and professional ethics. After lecturing at Texas State University full-time, simultaneously teaching weekends and nights at a community college, I decided to leave my comfort-zone. After moving to Shanghai, I taught test prep, analytical writing, essay writing, history, and consulted with international schools on English conventions. I loved traveling: meeting amazing people in interesting places. As an educator, I taught some of the most academically competitive students in the world. I am one of the few educators to have taught students at all grade levels.
As a professor of philosophy, I lectured on subjects of ethics, epistemology, and logic. As an international test-prep instructor and academic advisor, I had students achieve 90-99+ percentile scores on SAT, ACT, GRE, and SSAT exams and gain admission to top universities, including MIT, Princeton, NYU Stern School of Business, Purdue, and more. As an English and Professional Communications teacher, I fostered differentiated learning environments for students at all proficiency levels.
